Smile objects: design project by students of Accademia di Belle Arti Verona

Inspired by the great artist Fortunato Depero, the design objects of the students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona are born. From April in the bookshop of the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero and soon in the new space dedicated to the merchandising of Rovereto. Smile Objects is the project realized for the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero of Rovereto by the students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona together with Marcello Cutino, professor of the degree course in Art direction and product design. The project presented on 17 April 2018 selected the creations of six students of the academy that were created and exhibited at the showcase of the bookshop of the Casa d'arte Futurista Depero and the image point Rovereto culture and landscape. The works realized are: Sky lamp, poetically interprets the dome of the Mart (Lin Jing) Campa Coasters, whose design is inspired by the bottle of Campari Soda (Giulia Zardini) Memory to reconstruct the works in the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero (Giorgia Biancini) Bookmarks Stop reading, from silhouettes reminiscent of ties, bow ties and bottles (Giorgia Biancini) Turin, the theater: designed to stimulate children's imagination, is a tribute to the poetics of the Deperian characters (Edoardo Pavoni) Double puzzle: a game that shows back and forth images related to Fortunato Depero (Daniela Botta) The initiative aims at studying and reinterpreting the museum heritage through the creation of design souvenirs. "The souvenir that gives a smile and captures a memory" is the motto of the project. Smile Objects enjoys the scientific support of the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona, Mart, Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero and Rovereto Cultura e Paesaggio, participating in the initiative that takes care of its marketing and distribution. Today Smile Objects stands as an important initiative that sees the collaboration between the museum and the young designers who study at the Academy of Fine Arts as a real creative laboratory where projects born in the academic field and result of a close collaboration with the museum arrive in the market demonstrating how the methodology of Design come cosmo at the base of the research work carried out by the students has reached the test of the market. An important goal that demonstrates how the research expressed in the Academy can not only be a trainer in the students, but also a suggestion of a new vision of reality and the market.
