MINIMA COLLECTION AND ITS SPATIAL MICROCOSM: LET’S DISCOVER IT THROUGH THE DESIGNER’S WORDS

How was the Minima collection born?

Describing Minima’s design means recounting a conceptual journey: the Minima collection is born from a profound reflection on space and the essence of design. It is based on the search for a spatial microcosm, a balance between form and function, where the reduced size and attention to detail become tools for generating new visual and spatial insights. It is the result of a thinking that translates into essential forms, capable of harmoniously interacting with the environment. Each model represents a small architectural microcosm, where detail takes center stage. Quarto, for example, it takes up a quarter of a dome in the stem. Hemisfera It is characterized by an empty space in the shape of a hemisphere. Sash collects the lever in a compact frame, Tape transforms it into a ribbon that wraps around itself and finally Cut highlights a clear volume that projects into space.

How can the design of the Minima collection be defined?

All the suggestions just described are inspired by volumes and/or architectural elements found in contemporary designs, thus creating an extraordinary affinity between the handle and its surroundings. The handle integrates seamlessly into the space in which it is installed, becoming an element that enhances it. Symbiosis can be defined as a design that seeks a profound connection between space, the object, and its function, where each element interacts coherently and seamlessly with its surrounding environment.

For the first time, Frascio is using aluminum in its handle production. What’s the reason behind this choice?

There are two main reasons behind this choice: lightness and sustainability. Aluminum is a lightweight and easily recyclable material, widely reused even at the end of its lifespan—just think of common cans. But beyond being an alloy used for its extraordinary technical characteristics, aluminum also offers a unique sensory experience: it’s an aluminum in the production of handles.

The Minima collection introduces the new 30 mm rosette by Frascio for the first time. What’s its added value?

This is a distinctive element of the collection. The new rosette patented by Frascio has allowed the rosette to be directly integrated into the stem, making the handle’s overall design cleaner and more contemporary. This new compact standard meets the needs of today’s interior design, which favors clean lines and minimal accessories that blend seamlessly with the aesthetics of the space.

The Minima collection’s tagline reads: “Born to enter the places of the future world.” What does that mean?

We believe Minima’s spirit is strongly forward-looking. The collection clearly distances itself from nostalgic trends or reinterpretations of vintage handles: instead, it offers a contemporary, essential, and innovative aesthetic. With its decidedly futuristic character, Minima is designed for modern and ever-evolving environments, making it an ideal choice for entering the world of the future.
